Our Learning Experience

Language Development

At Trinket Box, we pride ourselves on the fact that we are a language rich environment for our children and encourage them to engage in books, whether it is being read to, looking at pictures, or making up the story themselves.

At Trinket Box we have our own library scheme. The children are all given a library card, they choose a book, have it checked out by ourselves, then they can share it at home. The children receive stickers, certificates and other little rewards for getting ‘book busy’.

Social & Emotional

Social and emotional development in our children is crucial, as it lays the foundation for their future interactions and relationships. We encourage children to express their feelings, understand their emotions, and develop essential skills such as empathy and cooperation. In the future this will support social situations, build friendships, and foster a sense of belonging. By nurturing social and emotional development, we can empower children to thrive both in and out of the setting.

Physical

Outdoor play is an essential part of preschool life.  We believe in the importance of outdoor exploration and physical play.  It helps to clear our minds and keep our bodies active and healthy.

Our garden provides a safe space for children to explore, calculate risks, under the watchful eye of staff.  Our area is designed to stimulate curiosity, creativity, and social interaction among children, as they can access a raft of resources.

Expressive Art

At Trinket Box, a range of art supplies are made available to encourage creativity and the exploration of thought. Creativity and expression is an essential part of the early years experience.

Art can be a way for children to express emotions, particularly if language is a barrier.

Forest School

Children can access a 6 week forest school programme where they will learn about nature, how to care for our world, how to build a fire safely, climb trees, and build dens.

This encourages their life skills, physical skills and builds their confidence, it is fantastic for developing their speech.

Being outdoors in nature has proven to stimulate the brain, enhance communication skills and help them to absorb knowledge. The Forest School programme offers children first hand cross-curricula learning experiences and opportunities to learn about the natural environment, key social and physical skills outside the classroom.

Early Mathematics

Mathematics is introduced in a fun and engaging way to lay a strong foundation for numerical concepts.

Our activities and games help children develop basic mathematical skills and critical thinking at an early age.
